Testimonials

Wendy Simon:
"One of the very best decisions we've ever made was to ask Glen Hacker to paint our children.   It is our prized possession.  Today, it hangs prominently as a beautiful painting of our children.  When they are grown, it becomes a family heirloom and a wonderful reminder of their youth."

Glen Robert Hacker, Grant Family. Oil. 16 x 24 inches.
Private collection.

Eileen Grant:
"We asked Glenn Hacker to paint our three children playing on Fairfield Beach, with the sun gently setting on their backs and oozing shadows from rhythmic sandcastles and salty shovels.  We had seen some of his work and loved his intimate strokes of color and lines on peoples' faces and beach landscapes.  We knew immediately that we wanted him to capture the innocence and sun drenched bodies of our beachy offspring!

After Glenn took several non-posing pictures of them , he carefully arranged each child  in a natural poses that I couldn't even describe to an artist.  Somehow, he was able to "freeze" their body movement, curve of a smile, tilt of a neck into a language that only a mother or father can understand.

Fairfield Beach has been a part of our lives for a long time.  As I sit in my new living room here in Chicago and gaze over at our kids' portrait on the beach, I can hear the hum of the waves, taste the salt on my lips and see the humbleness of the old Penfield Lighthouse.  Yes, the blues, purples and reds that Glenn chose to create this sea of memories is so breathtaking that sometimes even I still can't take my eyes off of it four years later.  When new friends come to our home for the first time, they immediately are drawn to the portrait and  intrigued by the sudden realization that our kids are part of this heavenly scene.  I can't tell you how happy Wayne, myself and our kids are that we made the investment with this priceless, timeless gift to ourselves.

Glenn is not only an artist who reads his subjects and landscapes intimately, but he captures a kleidoscope of  powerful senses and  sounds  that forever stays still at a moment in time.   And that is something I have yet to find in my life.  This portrait is by far our favorite treasure in our home, that has come with a lifetime of  satisfaction and familiarity.

I can't wait until they become teenagers!  Back to the beach they go!"
